i'm cgmatter and this is my humble (but mighty) site. as of the moment it serves only 3 purposes:
my start in vfx/cgi was fully inspired by '______ in real life!' videos in the 2010's from youtubers like freddiew, corridordigital (which i got to work for for a bit), sokrispymedia, etc - i imagine many of my gen-z bretheren relate. i learned after-effects from videocopilot and film riot - transitioned to c4d to create cringe minecraft animations (thank you captiansparklez for that) - and sold some models on sites like turbosquid as i learned the ropes. as you can see, lot's of youtube. i even posted some tutorials at the time but i won't link those here (they're there if you have the will to find them). in college i studied 'pure' math. i liked it a lot, but i didn't know what to do after i graduated (nor did i want to really). at the time i was still selling models and making roughly $1k a month from that. around that time i discovered that my models would sell better when offered in more formats. one of the formats i wanted to include was something called a .blend file... and the rest is history
